Please click on the above title for the flash presentation of this. This is awesome. 1 Corinthians 13:1-13 has always been one of my Bible Favorites.

1 Corinthians 13

Love
If I speak in the tongues[a] of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.

If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.

If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames,[b] but have not love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

For we know in part and we prophesy in part,

but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears.

When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.

Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

This was wonderful. I get to wondering what love is. This is what love is.

I am glad you enjoyed this. Sandy's and Debbie's Holy Union was tonight and it was awesome. I thought of this during their Holy Union. Once in a while when two people open up to one another it clicks. It is great to share and rejoice for them when it does happen.

yeh, well, once in a while. You are looking at a real cynic (sp) here in matters of "love."

I think perhaps I am close to expert on what Love Is Not. Probably by examples more than 1 Corinthians 13: 1-13.

I know people tend to use the word love to loosely and misuse the love others hold towards them. Somehow many think that once they are comitted to someone they can treat them any way they want. That is what Love Is Not.

What I would like to belive love is, is being there for one another through thick and thin because we want to... Talking about things in caring and kind ways as not to hurt who we say we love. Love Is Not taking each other for granted. Love Is Not catching someone and throwing them on the sidelines like a latest quest.

I am sure I could think of more but that is a good start. I wish you had not been given so many reasons to be so cynical. I don't think either of us were given healthy role models as to what love truly is.

yeh. I think l Cor. 13:1-13 is the guideline, for us to aspire to.

I know you are right about that!! I definately believe it starts with 1 Corinthians and goes from there...

Linda will be moving here permanently the second week of July. I am looking forward to *both* she and I applying these principles.

I chose 1 Corinthians 13: 1-13 as the reading at our wedding two years ago. I've always loved these words.
